Public bug reported: If headphones are plugged in prior to suspend/hibernate, the speakers mute, and then if they are removed prior to resuming, speaker do not unmute. The only way I've managed to get the speakers to unmute is to plug a pair of headphones in and remove them again.
The reverse also holds true: if headphones are plugged in while the system is hibernated/suspended, speakers do not mute upon resuming.
