Hi, I had the same issues as Niall. In my case my existing openvpn connection from Jaunty stopped working throwing the "No valid VPN secret" message in the syslog. Also tried to create a new connection using the same settings but that also didn't fix the issue. Can confirm, that Patrick Healy's workaround, adding at_console permissions to /etc/dbus-1/system.d/nm-openvpn-service.conf fixed the issue for me, now.
