With the i8042.nomux switch I now seem to have a machine that I can
reliably suspend or hibernate and have a working keyboard and trackpad
after I resume in my Karmic install.
For those unfamiliar with Grub2, I have included this switch by default
by :-
$ sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
and changing the line
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
to
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.nomux"
I would still like to know if the addition of this switch is likely to
cause any negative effects?
