Same problem on a different laptop (asus a9rp), did "sudo synclient RTCornerButton=2" and it worked again, however I have to do that every time I start a session. In the same way, hitting the touchpad with two fingers now acts as right clicking, three acts as middle clicking, which was reversed under 9.04. This can also be solved with "sudo synclient TapButton2=2 TapButton3=3" but, again, you have to do it on every startup.
