It happened to me as well, I don't understand what's causing it. I'm adding to 
this bug and not opening a new one.
I'm using an Acer Aspire One a150bgw (the one with integrated 3G modem, old 
series).
Audio card seems to work fine, plays MP3s and system sounds, so I assume it's 
working.
I'm going to look at system logs to see if I can find something useful.
Let me know if there's some info I can provide to help with the disgnosys.
