Thanks for your bugreport.
I check this and it is indeed messed up. The problem is that after the
first charackter is typed, the cursor jumps to the category and the view
changes. Now a view change take some seconds and that makes the
charackters appear in thise strnage order (while switching, no chars are
recived). I disabled the interactive categories search for now in my bzr
tree and this will be part of the next upload.
