I did the upgrade first - that sucked...then I did a fresh install.  I
haven't tried Thunderbird yet.

I also did some digging around regarding this problem.  It seems to be
directly connected with the gnome keyring.  There were a bunch of people
who were having (or still are having) this problem in OpenSUSE a few
years back on both the KDE and Gnome platform.

It seems that if we can get the key manager to not handle the password
things might actually work.

I tried this.....  I've substituted my actual email address with
"myemailaddress" so a spam bot doesn't pick it up.  If you do a trace,
you might need to change your PID number as it may be different than
mine.

Not that any of this helps me because I don't understand any of it...
