Ok, e.lamskoy, i tried to do what you;ve said. And i'd say, i was finally able to make the GODDAMN sound card work!
There are some problems, but not with the sound, but rather, with something i'd call 'general look". It boots ok, but there are 3 error messages (i can't read them, it flashes too soon, first is " BAR6: address space collision", second is "Ata1: softreset failed", and the third is "Can't find a suitable fs in /proc/, is it mounted? ") Then, when gnome boots up, there's no wallpaper for about 10 seconds, but a black screen and two gnome bars. So, i'd love to get something about these problems, as although they're not important at all, they just annoy me. Also, i'd love to see the solution added to the mainstream linux distributions / linux kernel (frankly, i don't know where it should go?). By the way, two notes to e.lamskoy. First, i couldn't find modprobe.conf. I added the line to /modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf Second, when i tried to find it, i couldn't find modprobe.conf, but i found noAlsa.modprobe.conf and noOSS.modprobe.conf. Thinking there was a problem there (dunno why) i erased everything in the file. What these two files are for? Although sound works anyway, i'm curious. -- Azalia sound doesn't work at all https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
