Public bug reported:
I tried to install the final release of Ubuntu 9.10 today. This tryout
was over very quickly when the installer failed to recognize my first
hard disk /dev/sda. It did find /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc. This is quite
surprising, since a Ubuntu 9.10 beta release I tested a few weeks ago
did not have this problem (the beta release resulted in #260001,
however, thus I could not install the beta release either).
You can find my hardware details in the attachments lspci.txt and
fdisk_dev_sda.txt.
I know it seems a little far fetched, but may be this is related to bug
#260001 and therefore to a more general problem.
