Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: usb-creator
When I tried creating a usb startup disk of ubuntu karmic, the usb-
creator reported that the USB stick did not have enough space, even
though the ios is 700MB and the stick is 1.1GB. I expected this to be
sufficient.
At that moment I had a video DVD in my drive of 1.6GB. This one is
present in the list of possible images to burn, but was not selected.
(see attached screenshot)
Workaround: When I removed the DVD from the drive, the problem did not
occur and I was allowed by usb-creator to start creating an USB startup
disk from the image.
My suspicion is that usb-creator only compares the available diskspace
on the USB stick with the size of the first image in the list. Not with
the one that is selected.

Bert Haverkamp
