Tormod, there was a change in behaviour to the better, recently, after either kernel or startscript updates, so I never filed a new bug. I thought all was well. Suddenly i got the freeze again the other day. Will check with and without hdparm again and with your wrapper. I have a Mobility Radeon 9000 GPU.
