My AMD64 3200+ 2000 GHz 1024K cache system was running a week old 9.04
updated to 9.10 using Update Manager. I may not have reported this
earlier is because I had been running alternate kernel 2.6.28-16 due to
bug 422536 about ECC. But sound fails with the earlier kernel. When I
recently booted from a live system on install CD to see if sound worked,
it did, but I got the ECC oops there.

When booting back to 2.6.31-14 on hard drive, I was surprised that sound
worked and there was no ECC oops. But this oops appeared when awakened
from standby the next morning. Web video sound still works in Foxfire.
The only warning in dmesg:

WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.31/kernel/power/suspend_test.c:52
suspend_test_finish+0x7c/0x80()

Not sure if that is a problem or just a non-issue to be logged because
it went on with:

Pid: 5685, comm: pm-suspend Not tainted 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu
(a stack trace)
PM: Finishing wakeup.
Restarting tasks ... done.
(with no apparent issues)

I did open my system to more sources of updates last night, but there
were no kernel related updates.
