I am going to go out on a limb here and say 'no'. I invite others to comment on this and correct me, but this is more likely due to a faulty video card damaging the lcd -- if that is even possible. Maybe even a faulty power supply for the monitor?
The operating system can only tell the graphics card what to display, Ubuntu does not interact directly with the monitor. I suspect the same thing would happen if you were to use Fedora, Red Hat, or Windows on the same machine. -- Does Ubuntu damage lcd? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/470103 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
