Just to clarify.  There are a number of places to indicate whether you
want a format warning message to pop-up.  Most prominent is the message
that comes up when saving an existing .doc file.  That pop-up has a
tick-mark that should be checked if you want messages to appear.

Are you saying that if you uncheck that tick-box, and then try to save
another .doc file, the pop-up still appears?  If so, is the tick-mark on
the pop-up still checked or unchecked?
