I see good to know. That should ensure that the user does not miss them. Unfortunately it does not solve the problem I experience. The notifications are still hidden when the mouse is not on the same screen.
I tried the "focus-follow", "dont-focus-follow" and <not-set>, but did not see any difference (I do not need to log out to apply the setting?). Note that my setting is not Xinerama. It's two separate X screens generated by one X server. So the mouse can be moved from one to the other and the clipboard is shared but windows can not be moved between the screens. The nvidia settings tool calls this "Separate X screen" and not "Xinerama" or "TwinView" which are the other two possible settings. What i see is that when the program generating the notification is running on :0.1 is that the pop up is displayed shifted (but still on :0.0). I think there is a separate bug about this already filed. I don't mind that. I used notification-properties' preview to test. It shows notification, however the "position" setting seems to be ignored. It's always displayed in the top right (I'd expect it applies the setting immediately, no logout required). -- notifications are hidden when mouse is on different display https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/469866 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
