Hi Michael, What happened was that after the upgrade the system was usable to some extent. Although, there was no way to install or update anything as the problem with the flashplugin-nonfree package prevented me to do anything. I tried dpkg --configure-a, apt-get -f install, removing, removing and purging, install: nothing worked. I thing it is the first time that I get to the point of not being able to do anything with apt- get.
In any case, I decided it was time to get rid of the 8.04 installation and made a clean install. It seems to be OK (I was using Karmic in a laptop from beta all the way to the release). In my two main machines I am still using 9.04: I got a little bit timid of updating them yet :) Thank you for the follow up, Claudio On Monday 02 November 2009 02:16:54 Michael Vogt wrote: > Thanks for your bugreport. > > Could you please attach the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ to this > bugreport? > > Thanks, > Michael > > ** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > > -- Upgrade Kubuntu 8.04 to 9.10 failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/469918 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
