Hi Michael,

What happened was that after the upgrade the system was usable to some
extent. Although, there was no way to install or update anything as the
problem with the flashplugin-nonfree package prevented me to do
anything. I tried dpkg --configure-a, apt-get -f install, removing,
removing and purging, install: nothing worked. I thing it is the first
time that I get to the point of not being able to do anything with apt-
get.

In any case, I decided it was time to get rid of the 8.04 installation
and made a clean install. It seems to be OK (I was using Karmic in a
laptop from beta all the way to the release). In my two main machines I
am still using 9.04: I got a little bit timid of updating them yet :)

Thank you for the follow up,
Claudio
