Same problem here on different machines with Ubuntu 9.10 fresh install, 9.10 updated from 9.04 and an old 9.04 installation...
I could provide more specs if needed, but as the problem exists on multiple machines with different hard- and software configurations I think it is a server problem or possible incompatibility between server and client or the data on the server is corrupt.
