1. I am experiencing the same problem, again elitebook 6930p upgraded from Jaunty with 32-bit OS. 2. blacklisting ricoh_mmc did not make this problem go away; checked in proc/modules 3. disabling the slot in the BIOS doesn't help either 4. I do have the WWAN device in, and some other devices.
I'm going to drop to BIOS and disable the various peripherals I don't need.
