With help of a friend I created a new (custom) kernel package, with the 2.6.28 kernel from Kubuntu 9.04 (downloaded source, used ubuntu kernel patch, created .deb's for image & headers). My "uname -a" now is "Linux htpc 2.6.28.10-custom #1 SMP Tue Nov 3 10:50:01 CET 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux": I can successfully boot, but I still have the same problem. As soon as I log on with KDE, the log is spammed with above USB reset messages.
Conclusion: I was probably too soon with my assumption that the kernel is to blame. Maybe this has something to do with KDE probing USB ports/devices, thus screwing something up? Something else: I checked the dmesg output on my PC at work (which is running KUbuntu 9.10), and it contains some "CPU0 attaching NULL sched- domain etc etc" as well. Maybe this is not part of the bug; I do not know what causes these CPU messages. -- KUbuntu installation on USB has very poor performance since 9.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/468978 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
