Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: usplash-theme-ubuntu
This is more a whishlist-thingie than a bug.
The standard usplash-theme-ubuntu does not match the gdm theme.
It would make a lot more sense, it they were as identical as possible.
My suggestion:
- use the same logo and background as GDM
- make the progressbar wider and put it in the dark-brown area at the bottom
(where the gdm would show the options button, date and machiene name)
Extra points:
- make xserver not blank the screen when its launched (if this is even
possible)
- or: fade out with usplash, fade in with gdm
Off course there are other ways to go about this. But not using the
identical same background the gdm uses by default makes no sense: it
just adds more clutter and makes everything feel lees polished
