I have the same problem with the HP LaserJet 3390 when using the HPIJS
driver. Seems to be a driver problem.
Can you try to set up your printer with the ljet4 GhostScript driver? If
the printer setup tool does not offer this driver for your printer,
choose the "Generic PCL 5e printer" as printer model.
