Public bug reported:

After suspending laptop, the screen fails to light up, and it seems the
computer has hanged up (I have waited multiple minutes without seeing
anything). I can get X back up, by switching to VT-1 and VT-7, but then
a kernel oops for a timeout is reported, and the wireless is non-
functional until network-manager is restarted. Also, apport usually
tries to file multiple reports after each resume, so it is possible that
another crash happens a bit later as well. Finally, after resume,
shutdown does not work, and rather I get a flashing screen along with a
flashing caps lock key, and the computer hangs.

I am using non-free broadcom driver wl.o, but the result is exactly the
same if I unload the module before going to sleep.

This seems to be very similar to bugs #417842 and #464552, but they both
seems to be triaged to just a slow resume, and just a cosmetic issue. In
my case, I have to take some drastic action for my laptop becomes
functional again.

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: Your system might become unstable now and might need to be
restarted.
