I found a workaround by adding "nomodeset" to the /boot/grub/grub.cfg so
it looks like this:

Before:
linux
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-14-genericroot=UUID=b70e96fc-dc87-4521-a68e-56372aa968c9
ro crashkernel=384M-2G:64M,2G-:128M quiet splash

After:
linux
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-14-genericroot=UUID=b70e96fc-dc87-4521-a68e-56372aa968c9
ro crashkernel=384M-2G:64M,2G-:128M quiet nomodeset splash

But I don't know how it avoids the bug and I guess it's not a "real"
solution of the problem.
