Public bug reported:
Have herd4 installed on Compaq Presario laptop. When trying to install
"build-essentials" with apt-get, it prompted for install CD-ROM to be
inserted. Even when inserted, it just kept prompting me to insert it.
The same thing in Synaptic when I tried to install "linux-restricted-
modules", even though a window actually popped up when CD was inserted,
it kept asking me to insert the CD.
