Ubuntu 9.10 - Intel HD using the VIA VT1828S audio chipset. The Asus
P7P55D motherboard input doesn't work and I cannot record anything. I
have a second mic on the front panel and this isn't even picked up by
the OS, but it works in Windows XP.

then speak into the microphone. After a few seconds, your speech will be played
back to you.
