Actually, first I get "Gave up waiting for root device", then I do ln -s
..., exit  as per

I have no LUKS partitions)

... Then booting into 9.10 breaks again with "One or more mounts listed
in /etc/fstab cannot yet be mounted", then I do  mount -o remount,rw,
exit - and only then 9.10 boot completes..

Hope I learn how to boot into 9.10 automatically - but I'm not sure how
could the boot / mounting problem be related to xulrunner... Maybe it is
because my root partition is ext2 - and I think the xulrunner problem
could be because there was a firefox process active in the background
during update, however that was Mozilla's executable, not the default
ubuntu one..
