My internal mic is not working with ubuntu 9.10 Karmic.
In the sound preferences, Input tab it shows device name for sound input
"Internal Audio Analog Stereo" and in the connector drop down menu i have Mic
1, Mic 2 and line 3. None of them are working.

CheckboxData: My internal mic is not working, i cannot hear anything. I changed
the default devices and tried it with all 3 of them Mic 1, Mic 2 and line in.
CheckboxDescription:
Open the volume control application by right-clicking on the speaker icon in
the panel and selecting "Sound Preferences". Select the "Input" tab and choose
any alternate (non-default) device(s). Select the "Output" tab and choose any
alternate (non-default) device(s). When you are done, click the Test button,
then speak into the microphone. After a few seconds, your speech will be played
back to you.
