Same issue for me, same Inspiron 9400. Also is the issue that the sound plays on the subwoofer speaker and not on the main speakers a duplicate with Bug 441195 ? In fact it happens only with ouput = Analog Stereo. No sound at all with output = Digital Stereo (IEC958)
