Sorry, I am not understanding the problem description exactly, could you
clarify about what went wrong? I'm not sure what you mean by "apply the
driver".
Also, there aren't the usual X files attached to this bug report which
could help in diagnosing it. Please run 'apport-collect 474300' which
should provide these files.
As well, my vague guess at this point is that the driver failed to build
properly. In case this is true, could you please find and attach your
build log that shows this issue? The file will be found someplace like:
/var/lib/dkms/nvidia/185.18.36/build/make.log
The numbered directory may be different depending on what version you
have installed, but if you poke around it should be somewhere like that.
