Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: synaptic
System is Gateway Intel Dasher board with integrated i845 graphics,
audio, network, and sound. CPU is Socket 478 2 GHZ Intel chip. Have 1
gig memory. Using integrated graphics, audio, sound, and networking.
Have run last several releases of Ubuntu on this system without
incident. After backup of wanted files, performed clean install of 9.10
via Live CD. After 30 minutes or so, system freezes, but still am able
to move mouse cursor. System however is dead. Can't reboot or kill x
server via keyboard.
Requires power-off reboot to restart. Has happened about 10 times since
upgrading last Sunday.
Not using any visual effects or screensaver. Often freezes while using
Firefox, but sometimes when computer is left alone for a few minutes
without any interaction.
Thank you,
Karl Heimbach
