Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
I think this bug is related to several recent bugs reported under
Firefox-3.5.
I upgraded to Karmic. Firefox started acting funny... loading pages
slowly, menus did not display (i.e. clicking on the menu, nothing
appears, but you can still select the invisible menu items), new pages
loaded slowly, and then would not appear until you scrolled.
All other applications seemed to work fine.
I noticed that Firefox-3.0 was still installed:
# dpkg --get-selections | grep firefox
firefox install
firefox-3.0 install
firefox-3.0-branding install
firefox-3.0-gnome-support install
firefox-3.5 install
firefox-3.5-branding install
firefox-3.5-gnome-support install
firefox-gnome-support install
And after removing Firefox and reinstalling Firefox-3.5, everything
works fine.
