Public bug reported:

After booting Ubuntu 9.10 up the new login dialog comes up
but the screen resolution is somehow misconfigured as the
whole area is not filled up and there is a margin on the right
and bottom.

After login the Gnome display is comes up but this as also
misconfigured resolution as I have to scroll up and left to
get to menus.

When I launch Nvidia Xserver settings manager and setup
1600x1200 resolution which is valid by default also the
sync rate changes from 60Hz to Auto and when activating
the settings the display is rightly configured.
