I have noticed rather slow rendering and high CPU usage in Ubuntu 9.10.
So far I have encountered visible slow downs in various Java games, most
noticeable in 'Haven & Hearth' which is completely unplayable. I have also seen
choppy rendering in flash videos, Gnome and various other places. Most of the
time it is barely visible, however at other times it's extremely bad, it seems
to depend on what application you are using.
Java shows abnormally high CPU usage which I believe is the cause of the
choppy rendering, I have not confirmed high CPU usage in any other application.
This bug is not present in Ubuntu 9.04, other people have reported this same
problem on the Ubuntu Forums.
