I can confirm this behavior, and unlike Bug #477574, restarting the session or
restarting the system doesn't fix it.
The cloud applet continues to show at each startup, ignoring preferences.

the "cloud-symbol" of ubuntu one appears in the upper taskbar, even the
connection is disconnected and the properties of the symbol are on "only show
during upload"
