This appears to be handled now by default in /lib/udev/keymaps/hewlett-
packard in Ubuntu 9.10:
0x92 brightnessdown # FnF7 (FnF9 on 6730b)
0x97 brightnessup # FnF8 (FnF10 on 6730b)
