Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nitpic

Pulling in nitpic fails to resolve any dependencies which are required
by the application.

pa...@aspire:~$ nitpic
nitpic: error while loading shared libraries: libbfd-2.19.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

Searching aptitude for libbfd returns

pa...@aspire:~$ aptitude search libbfd
v libbfd-dev

However...

pa...@aspire:~$ sudo apt-get install libbfd-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package libbfd-dev is a virtual package provided by:
  binutils-dev 2.20-0ubuntu2
You should explicitly select one to install.
E: Package libbfd-dev has no installation candidate

Is nitpic still maintained? Or does it rely on deps which are now obsolete?

** Affects: nitpic (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
