Rejecting the bug report since the problem is not in the compiler or
some other ubuntu provided/supported software package, but in the
scripts included with this Intel 537ep modem driver.

Specifically, it seems spaces in directory names are not taken into account 
properly: as a result, things went awry in  the "make -C ..." command where the 
second argument 'SUBDIRS' contains spaces and gets misinterpreted.
Remove the spaces from the directory name "Linux ubuntu drivers" and try again.
