I've attached a screenshot where the problem is illustrated. The PDF

The screenshot was taken on the first page, after scrolling (with the
mouse wheel) to the bottom of the page. In this particular case, the
problem occurred only when the Evince window was maximised. It does not
happen every time I open the document.
