Tested on Ubuntu 9.04. Problem still exists. I haven't tested it on 9.10 (didn't have time to upgrade and still some issues with thinkpads on 9.10). Nonetheless one can live with this error. It happens only when disk on the NAS has been stopped by inactivity. I suppose it is a problem with this NAS device not Ubuntu. When the laptop is resumed from sleep when the disk is still running the network folder opens up easily.
