Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub-installer

Hello..booted from my USB stick with Karmic installed. Everithing worked
OK but after an update, gconf windows appeared asking to use the
grub.conf file of the package or the installed one...gconf crashed
and...GRUB2 got installed to the first disk of the machine, and not to
the USB stick.

Because it was a windows system, and I had not my wXP installation CD, i
had to spend 5 hours to find a wXP recovery Console ISO image.

I think that this is a serious error, Ubuntu need to ask where the
bootloader will be installed if there are more than one disk present!

For thoose in need of the wXP RC ISO image, i can publish the download
link.
