The same behaviour at my notebook (Sony VGN-FW21Z). Ubuntu 9.10 Remark: The suspend mode worked properly with Ubuntu 9.04. After changing to 9.10 no recovery possible after suspend (only with 'hard' reset by pressing the power switch for 4s).
