Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I was unable to give much detail, as Ubuntu 9.10 crashed twice while I was in the middle of writing the bug report. So on the third attempt I wrote the minimum, attached the syslog, and posted the report before the crash. I have been running Ubuntu since 7.04. I have found 9.10 to be the most unstable.
As to the information requested: (1) Specific steps or actions? I cannot be sure what causes the crash, but my suspicion is that it is related to the logitech wireless keyboard (mx3200) and mouse (mx600). A mouse movement, use of the scroll wheel or keyboard entry all coincided with crashes. I should say this behaviour occasionally happened under 8.10, but not under 9.04 and not to this extent. (2) Behaviour expected? I didn't expect Ubuntu to crash and restart. (3) Actual behaviour? There is no freeze or other behaviour. It is as if the power was turned off. The screen goes black and the computer restarts. There is no prior warning of any problem, no hint of any kind that something is wrong. Just sudden black screen and restart. BTW, I am writing this reply on another computer. -- Random crashes in Ubuntu 9.10 - may be wireless mouse & kb related. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/478901 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
