I'm getting similar messages. They come at (seemingly) random times when I'm not using the computer. Here's a bit from my syslog:

WL-167G v2 802.11g Adapter [ralink] I'm on Ubuntu (Server) 9.10. I believe I've had very similar problems on 9.04 as well. >From the looks of the first line shown, my system thinks that the USB adapter is being disconnected.
