AsstZD, thank you for taking the time to help make Ubuntu better. Just
to clarify, are you saying that in both cases (by device name and by
device UUID), the drives are mounted and fully functional? Is the
problem that icons do not appear on the desktop for these drives? Are
they removable drives or internal?
