This issue happens for me when I use the rhythmbox toolbar volume
control.

If I change the system volume control, or use the sound preferences
dialog by right-clicking on the panel icon to alter the rhythmbox
volume, then all is fine, but if I try to change the volume from the
toolbar in Rhythmbox then Rhythmbox crashes.

For now I have just hidden the rhythmbox toolbar.

I am running 9.10 installed clean, not upgraded, with all updates as of
today.
