Have the same problem on my samsung nc-10 but only after I upgraded to 2.6.31-15 kernel. It seems like the power management in Karmic is pants, based on the number of bugs outstanding. Not good considering M$ tends to place a high value on turd polishing and Win7 will probably not have so many issues. Oh well linux has already conceded the netbook segement after a early lead and rocky start. Perhaps by the time the ARM based smartbooks come out these issues will be ironed out.
