Thank you very much for your answer; I corrected my grub.cfg as far as I understood that I could change the mode (after opening this bug). The system works perfectly after UUID modification;
The problem still exists for automatic update-grub sudo os-prober /dev/sda1:Ubuntu 9.10 (9.10):Ubuntu:linux /dev/sdb3:Ubuntu 9.10 (9.10):Ubuntu1:linux sudo linux-boot-prober /dev/sda1 /dev/sda1:/dev/sda1::/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-14-generic:/boot/initrd.img-2.6.31-14-generic:root=/dev/sda1 sudo linux-boot-prober /dev/sdb3 /dev/sdb3:/dev/sdb3:Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31-14-generic:/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-14-generic:/boot/initrd.img-2.6.31-14-generic:root=UUID=69f429f9-dc0a-4422-af1f-8eb4796e0294 ro quiet splash /dev/sdb3:/dev/sdb3:Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31-14-generic (recovery mode):/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-14-generic:/boot/initrd.img-2.6.31-14-generic:root=UUID=69f429f9-dc0a-4422-af1f-8eb4796e0294 ro single (UUID INCORRECT) As far as the system comes from a "cp -a" of a system which was in the UUID=69f429f9-dc0a-4422-af1f-8eb4796e0294, I have to know which file I do have to change for a correct recognition of the UUID of the system. -- update-grub doesn't write a correct grub.cfg in Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/479962 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
