** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-vesa - Karmic LiveCD is unusable on my machine because at the moment when X should start I see frequently flashing console with "login" string (looks like X tries to start, but doesn't stop trying). + Karmic LiveCD is unusable on my machine because at the moment when X should start I see frequently flashing console with "login" string (looks like X vainly tries to start, but doesn't stop trying). After upgrading from Jaunty (where vesa works fine) to Karmic when trying to use vesa driver (1:2.2.1-1) or just removing any other suitable drivers I experience the same problem: the white ubuntu logo goes out and nothing but infinitely flashing console. Workaround: installing xserver-xorg-video-vesa package from jaunty (1:2.0.0-1ubuntu6) solves problem. Also I noticed that -nv driver doesn't work(the same symptoms but Xorg.log looks different) after upgrade (I don't know if it correlate somehow with vesa problem). Installing -nv package from Jaunty also helps. Should I submit separate bug report for -nv or should I provide Xorg.log for -nv right here? P.S. Excuse my English.
