I've got the Chaintech AV-710, which uses the Envy24 chip. It ran flawlessly out of the box with Ubuntu 9.10 x64. Just a little configuration is needed.
It took me a while to figure out how to get the sound to work properly: In sound preferences (System > Preferences > Sound), under Hardware tab, select "VT1720/24 [Envy24PT/HT] PCI Multi-Channel Audio Controller" (It may look different on your system). Then under profile, I set: "Digital Stereo (IEC958) Output + Analog Stereo Input" this also works with "Digital Stereo Duplex (IEC958)" I am not using the standard jack on this card. My speakers are connected to the "Back Surr" jack which uses the Wolfson DAC. Hope this helps you! -- Envy24 soundcard doesnt work under Ubuntu 9.10 64bit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/463828 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
