Thanks, but I think we already have a relevant log from a E220, it appears to be bugs in the modem FW that Linux can't quite cope with properly at this stage. It looks like updating the modem FW may fix it though I've asked my contact at Huawei to provide more infos as to whether there is an "official" source for those firmwares and whether there is some kind of Linux based updater instead of Windows XP...
